Yeah. That was today. It started with Jaxon.

He was supposed to be at a simple meeting, they were board members, mostly humans. Just another day smoothing over scandals, convincing them everything was fine while the real battles, the ones that mattered, happened in the dark where they couldn't see.

I wasn’t supposed to be here, didn’t think I needed to be. But when I got the call from Ronan,  tight voice, curt words, I knew something was wrong.

"Jaxon wants to see you," Ronan said. "Get here."...
