My breath hitched, then I huffed and pushed past him.

"Are you kidding me? Why would I have that crazy thought?"

"Whoa... You're unbelievable," I fanned myself with my hand.

His eyes lingered on me. I hated how it looked like he was seeing right through my soul... Like he already got the answer to his question right before I even said a word. It's annoying.

"I think I'll just wait outside," I said, and walked out of the kitchen, releasing the breath I'd been holding unknowingly once I was outside.
