Knox was already waiting outside the gate beside his car when I got off work by four.

He'd texted me an hour ago that he would be on his way soon.

A smile spread across my face as I approached him.

“Hey…” I stopped in front of him, my fingers tightening on my bag and lunch bag.

"Did you have lunch yet?” He glanced down at my lunch bag and back at me.

"Hmm. With Nora… a while ago.”

He nodded, then pulled the door open for me, and I dipped my head before going to hop in.
