I took a cab to our apartment, and just as I had presumed, nobody was home. Thankfully, the lock hasn't been changed, so I was able to get inside the house.

I headed straight to my room because I didn't want to waste time.

My legs stilled the moment I stepped into my room. Even though everything almost looked normal, I could tell someone was here. Someone looked through my things.
