A WEEK LATER

I stepped out of my office, This past week has been damn crazy! It had been nothing short of chaotic. Alex still hadn’t agreed to work with me, and I hadn’t been able to see Sophie since my last visit. The longing to be with her gnawed at me; I missed her more than I could express.

Isabella had been a lifeline, sending me pictures and videos of Sophie, and each one reminded me of the warmth of her smile and the way her laughter lit up a room. I cherished those glimpses, but they only deepened my ache to be with her...
