Nate nodded, even though Elijah couldn’t see him. He was already walking to the door, ready to leave—

The secretary looked up as he walked through the front office, but she didn’t say anything.

She knew better than to try and stop him.

Nate stepped out onto the sidewalk, pulling his sunglasses on as he went.

An hour until Elijah got here—

Nate would find a way by then.
