Eden's blood ran instantly cold.

“No…Cassian! You can't…you can't mark me!” She gasped, her voice breaking into a panic-laced whisper as she frantically shoved against the immovable wall of his chest.

​“I can't?” Cassian echoed, a low, dark chuckle rumbling deep within his chest that vibrated straight through her palms. “Why not, baby girl?”

With a swift, brutal movement, he pushed Eden down onto the glowing ground of the realm, the impact knocking the air straight out of her lungs.
