Zephyr POV

The social worker's name who came for the interview was Patricia. She sat on our couch with a clipboard, asking questions that I was sure were designed to make us fail.

"And how do you plan to explain Mira's adoption to her as she grows older?"

I glanced at Zane. "We'll be honest with her," I said. "She'll always know she's adopted and that we chose her."

Patricia wrote something down. "And your relationship, how long have you been together?"

"Three years."

"Married?"

"Not legally but we're committed."

She wrote down some more and I couldn't tell if that was good or bad.
