After driving for what felt like days looking for the perfect apartment for us, we finally found the one. It was small but clean one bedroom with a tiny kitchen and a bathroom with a working shower.

"Is this okay?" Zane asked as he set down the bags. "I know it's not much, but it's safe. No one will find us here."
