I swallow hard and squeeze my eyes shut. “Yeah because you’re killing me here.” My voice becomes huskier.
She stands from my lap, this time I let her. I rub my face with my hands and release a deep breath.
“Stop saying like that. I need to go home anyway.” She checks her phone.
“I will send you just wait until I calm a bit.”
She looks at me with a query look. “Did you forget I have my car down? And you rode to school with Garrett.”
“And so? Can’t I send you? I’ll drive your car, then I’ll call a cab to get back home.”
She laughs....
