I can feel that she’s gone before I open my eyes.
The cold breeze washes over me, sending a chill through me and waking me up in a hurry. There’s nothing left of Freya but the slightest indentation in the moss where we made love and just a slight trace of her incredible scent of pine just after a light rain.
Inside, my wolf wails.
The more I wake up and the cobwebs clear from my head, the more I realize how much Freya hates my family. It doesn’t seem right that the Goddess has mated us when I represent what she dislikes most of all in the world....
