I feel my heart thumping in panic when I see the wolves headed toward me. ‘This is it,’ I think. ‘I’m finished.’

I drop the Breeder with a light thump and look around, trying to assess my best route of escape. The wolves are headed toward me in a close group, so it’s possible I can sneak off to the side and make a run for it into the forest. 

Looking back at the wolves, none of them seem especially fast, and they’re clearly not tough Alphas or Betas, so it’s possible I can take them. Of course, I’ve spent a lot of time in that dungeon with barely...
