David's gaze veers. It makes his blue eyes glaze over. Hunter also rises.

"What is it?"

Maybe. After two assaults, I wouldn't be surprised if a threat increased now. Hunter corrects me as David rises, pecks my cheek, and departs the dining room.

"A phone call," Hunter says as he leaves.

Jessica catches my eye and smiles comfortingly. The members either ignored or used David and Hunter's mood swings.

The party heads home after a few minutes, but not before thanking Jessica for dinner. Jessica smiles and squeezes or kisses their hands.
