“Yes.” He reached out like he wanted to touch me, then dropped his hand. “I know what happened between us is forbidden. I know it’s wrong by every rule society has. But I don’t regret it. I can’t regret loving you.”

Jace loved me. He loved me.

This whole time, while I’d been drowning in self-hatred and trying to convince myself to stop loving him, he’d loved me back. We’d both been suffering for the same impossible thing.
