“That’s all for today, May," Dave said, his voice turning cold and businesslike. “Did you bring what I asked for?”

I was still thinking about the kiss, my head feeling dizzy. “What?”

“The files,” Dave repeated patiently. “From Richard’s company. Did your daughter get them?”
