I watched as Lena lowered herself onto the ground, wiping sweat from her brow. She looked a little bit exhausted. The energy in the air was calm, but there was still an undercurrent of tension. I took a deep breath, knowing that there was no way to avoid the next conversation in our minds, which was the bigger conversation.
