Angela awoke with a start, the sunlight streaming through the window, blinding her. 

As she blinked the sleep from her eyes, she noticed the empty space beside her.

The hotel bed was cold and empty, and for a moment, she was disoriented. 

She sat up, her head pounding and lower body aching with the memories of the last night, confusion giving way to realization.
