"Apphia!" someone calls me. I stop and turn. It's Nalani. She smiles and waves as she walks towards us. Next to her is her friend, Vivian. Nalani looks me up and down with a smile. 

"I heard you were back. How are you?" she's smiling hard. I can't help but reciprocate her excitement.

"I'm fine. We were going to the pack to see you …" she glances back at her friend, but Vivian has frozen, her gaze solely on Chase. They are mates. Vivian, as though on autopilot. She moves towards my bodyguard and smiles, standing very close to him, "Hi,"
