It all began the day my mother walked through our mini-sized front door, practically glowing, announcing that she had found a new soul mate and was getting married in less than twenty-four hours.

“Holy shit! You want me to believe that?”

I was left in shock, though I had always wanted her to move on from the past—my father’s untimely death. Mom always believed he was killed unjustly.
