I shake my head, frustration and confusion tangling together.
“Why would she hide it? Who was she hiding it from? She knew how pathetic I felt. She knew how much I hated being so fragile, so easily broken. Why would she intentionally keep me in the dark and steal this from me?” My voice cracks. “Can it even be undone? What was in those drugs?”
The questions spiral faster than I can catch them, and suddenly there’s a pressure building behind my eyes, a migraine clawing its way to the surface.
I grip my head with both hands, trying to breathe through it.
