The atmosphere in the pack's infirmary was tense, heavy with a mixture of anticipation and worry. My steps felt heavy as I paced outside the door, my heart hammering in my chest. Aline was in labor, and I couldn't shake off the sense of helplessness that gnawed at me.

Hours had passed since Aline had been taken into the infirmary. Her labor had come early, no doubt brought on by the stress and turmoil that had plagued us recently. Every passing minute felt like an eternity, and I couldn't shake off the nagging fear that something might go wrong.
