The sky remained dark for an extended period.
I could still see the vibrant morning sun peeking through the dark clouds above me.
I walked alongside Clover and Chase to the packhouse. I removed my jacket and allowed the morning sun's rays to warm the skin beneath the crew neck shirt I was wearing.
I wished that the vibrant colors of the day would fill this hollow space within me with joy.
As disappointed as I was, Clover did not feel the need to hide his disappointment as we walked briskly along the paved pathway to our parked cars.
