On the other end of the phone, Melford kept rambling.
Chelsea felt an unnamed fury rising from the soles of her feet, her chest ready to explode. Gripping the phone, she uttered coldly, "Go to hell."
And then she hung up.
Jesse, beside her, jumped in surprise. Seeing Chelsea's grim expression, she asked with concern, "Big sister, what's wrong?"
Almost the moment she hung up, the phone rang again. The caller ID showed unfamiliar digits, more familiar than a bank card PIN to Chelsea.
Clutching the phone, Chelsea's emotions were complicated, finding it somewhat laughable.
