I asked Jax to leave. Not for no reason, but because it was true—I was more appropriate to be in this place than with Jax. No matter how good Jax is, I can't let my guard down because anything can happen.

I had considered it, and the creature in the tube had opened my eyes to the fact that the man I had admired and loved all along was not a good man. He was just obsessed with me, and I didn't want to make that mistake again.
