"Why the hell would he ask me?" The single thought ran through Nicole's head all day long.

She speed-walked down to her locker and was grabbing her things when she felt a hand on her shoulder causing her to suddenly flinch and spin around.

"Woah there," Seth chuckled, looking at her with his eyebrows raised in amusement. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just peachy! Why do you ask?" Nicole muttered sarcastically, annoyance radiating off of her as she rolled her eyes.
