The afternoon shift was the usual blur of vitals, medication rounds, and trying not to let exhaustion show on my face.
Suddenly I missed staying in the office and doing nothing all day. I missed that silence and for a moment I wanted to scream but I didn't when I caught sight of Olga down the hall. She was leaning against the nurses' station, talking animatedly to someone, waving a packet of chocolate wafers like evidence in a trial.
Yep, that was definitely Olga.
I walked over, Olga spotted me first.
"Finally! I was telling Hannah about how you basically saved me from caffeine withdrawal yesterday."
