The shift ended at 06:45am, the kind of gray dawn that made everything outside the hospital windows look washed out and tired. I clocked out, stretched my neck until it popped, and paged Olga while I changed out of scrubs in the locker room.
Her reply came back instant: FOOD. All caps. No punctuation.
She indeed was still hungry .
I laughed under my breath, loud enough that Hannah, still tying her shoes two lockers down, glanced over and smirked.
"Olga?"
"Obviously," I said, zipping my bag. "She's starving."
I pulled my phone out of the locker, it had been off since last night, I was just being to paranoid....
