"Oh, Vivianne, hi," I say as I come down the stairs. "You didn't tell me you were already on your way over."
She walks from the front door, past Adam, and toward me. I can immediately tell that they spoke, but I have no idea for how long or about what. Adam watches me. I give Vivianne a quick hug but maintain eye contact with him.
