The next few days were difficult. After my brother left to go back home, I was finally able to have some time to myself. I forced him to not mention this to dad. I wanted to be the one to tell him and I needed time before I was going to have that conversation.

The university excused me from all lectures and seminars for as long as I needed. It didn't take long for everyone to find out about that night and I actually received cards, and messages of sympathy from people from uni.
