The animalistic growl that came out of Elion should have scared me.
It should have made me take off for the hills and never look back
It should have reminded me exactly who this man was beneath his thousand-dollar suits and cold expression - the Devil who would ruin me whether I gave him the chance or not
It should have done anything else.
But instead, that sound sank into my chest with the force of lightning, tightening my stomach until it felt like there was no room left inside me for anything except him.
