Jen returned with our drinks and requested our order.

"I’ll have a bacon cheeseburger with cheese fries." I requested.

"I’ll have a steak with potatoes and broccoli." Jason put in his order.

"I’ll be back with your orders." As she turned to leave, I stopped her.

"Jen." She looked at me. "I’m Aniyah and its genuinely nice to meet you. I hope to get to know you a little better."

A large smile danced its way across her face. Her look of satisfaction made me smile. She walked away. I looked back to Jason who looked happy, almost proud.

"What?" I asked.

"You did good." He smiled.

"Thanks."
