My claws came within an inch of Mira's throat, just before Kira appeared in front of me, telling me to stop. 

There was absolute silence in the small group as everyone stared at what had almost happened in the blink of an eye. 

I still felt the urge to shift, but now that Kai was no longer cursed, control was no longer an issue. If anything, we both wanted the same thing, so we acted together.
