Pain slowly bloomed all over my body and behind my eyes before I even had the chance to open them. It was slow, it was like waking up from a horrible nightmare I had yet to fully escape from. My fingers, wrists as well as limbs felt like lead.. like a dead weight, useless and numb and really painful.

Something wasn’t right. Something was nowhere near right.

I slowly blinked my eyes as I opened them, my vision was a bit blurry and my throat was as dry as ash. A candlelight flickered next to me, and it made tall shadows appear as though they were dancing across the walls....
