The door clicked softly shut behind me as I stepped back into my chambers. Moonlight spilled across the polished floor in sharp, silver slits. The rest of the palace had gone quiet hours ago... but I didn’t need sleep.

No... not tonight.

I moved to my wardrobe and gently pulled it open, then pressed my palm against the back panel. A dull click responded to my touch... my secret closet. It was small, and just enough space to hide the things no one could ever find.
