I stepped down from the car, breathing hard as his scent filled my brain. I was so happy about my mate, it made me do some things that I never thought I would. For example, I was holding evening primroses in my hand and I simply had no idea why I bought them.

I was happy about him but I was also scared. Why was I finding my mate now after all these years? Why was it now? When I was about to go to some life and death war? I knew that I didn't have much time with him before I went.
