When we arrived home, I got out of the car in front of our main house while Pierre drove ahead to park the car and retire for the night.

 

I suddenly became self-conscious of myself and didn't want to upset Sophia with my tipsy state. I maintained composure and balance as I walked into the house and up the stairs, into the bedroom.

 

I pulled off my suit and tie the moment I got into the room as I was feeling stuffy and hot. The only thought that crossed my mind was to head into the bathroom and have a cold shower.
