She giggled, her cheeks getting rosy. "Maybe later tonight."

"What time will you be home?"

"Around 11."

"Cool. Maybe I'll swing by your room then?"

"Sure. Maybe we can play some Apex?"

"It's a date."

"Sweet." She straightened up her dress with fastidious attention, and Lucas could tell she was a bit nervous. "Do I really look that good?"

Her brother nodded, his brows raised with manly appreciation. "You look to-die-for, Skylar."

"Thanks."

"Anytime."

"Okay, I'm off to work."

"Go get him, girl."

The day carried on uneventfully for Lucas. He'd taken a ten-minute walk, did a few sets of pull-ups and dips, and went up to his room....
