I blinked awake to rays of morning sun streaming into my bedroom. For a moment I just lay there enjoying the tranquility.

"Yes, it's a new day again." I smiled.

Ever since I had gotten out of the hospital after the attack, I treasured these quiet moments before the chaos of the day began.
