There was a flurry of knocks on my door, and when I opened it, Hannah stood before me.

“Hi,” she said awkwardly. “Can I…can I come in?”

I nodded and stepped aside so she could come into the apartment.

“Can I get you something to drink?” I asked.

“Oh, a glass of water will be fine,” she said.
