Khaos beckoned her to come to him and she did. She approached him and sat down on his lap. She surprised him with her boldness, but he shouldn’t have expected any less from her.

“Have you named the wolf?” Khaos asked.

The sudden change in the subject surprised Zuri, but she welcomed it. “Not yet. I don’t know what to name him.”

Khaos caressed the wolf’s head, as Zuri rested her head against his shoulder, breathing in his scent. She enjoyed being so close to him like this.

“What about ‘shadow’?” Zuri suggested.
