I woke up and the bed was cold beside me. I sat up. Cassian was standing by the window looking out at the mountains. He was dressed. He had been awake for a while.

“What is it?” I asked.

He turned around. His face was serious. “The den is closing.”

I stared at him. I did not understand. “Closing?”

“Today,” he said. “I am releasing the other Omegas. I have made the arrangements. They will go to new placements. Good ones.”
