Maya unlocked the front door of her apartment and stepped inside, feeling a little tired but happy. The day had been long, but her heart was light.

To her surprise, she found Colton sitting calmly on the couch, flipping through one of her fashion sketchbooks.

“Colton?” she asked, raising an eyebrow. “What are you doing here?”

He looked up with a small grin. “I’ve been waiting for you. You said you’d be sleeping over at the estate tonight, remember?”

Maya blinked, then smacked her forehead gently. “Oh right! I totally forgot.”

“Well, I didn’t,” Colton replied, standing up. “Go get ready. I’ll wait.”
