Daniel stepped out of the bathroom, steam curling around his shoulders as he wiped his face with a towel. The house was quiet..too quiet until the sharp click of heels echoed from the doorway. Lena stood there, dressed sharply in a crimson blouse and fitted skirt, her expression unreadable but her eyes glinting with venom.
She didn’t even glance at him as she grabbed her car keys from the dresser. “Don’t bother saying anything,” she muttered coldly. “I’m just here to get my things.”
Daniel exhaled, setting the towel aside. “You don’t need to come back for anything else,” he said firmly. “The divorce papers will be ready soon.”
