Athena's POV

The tears stopped flowing down my cheeks and the shaking stopped and a strange icy calm washed over me like I was suddenly looking at everything from outside my own body.

I lifted my head slowly and met his gaze directly and my lips curled into a bitter smile that felt foreign on my face.

"You think killing her made you win something?" My voice was quiet but it carried through the space between us and was sharp as a knife cutting through flesh. "You think taking Jess away from him somehow made me yours?"

His smile faltered just slightly and I could see confusion flicker...
