Approaching New Orleans Lakefront Airport

I'd never flown in a plane before, so as I listened to music and ignored the noises from behind me, I watched the lights below as we sped south, and thought about how my life was changing.

I had been grateful for everything the La Crosse Pack had done for me, but I was dying there. They kept me safe but hidden; I was only included in Pack activities when no one from outside the Pack was around, and I never truly felt a part of it. When Talia asked me to go to New Orleans with her, I couldn't wait to leave....
