I switched on the lights and Mia jumped in fear.

"What are you doing?" I asked her and she turned sharply towards me before letting out a relief sigh.

Why was she so jumpy?

" Er... The... The lights were off. Why did you turn off the lights?" She changed the topic trying to make her voice steady.

But I already noticed she was uncomfortable.

I took a step towards her glancing at the hanger she held firmly in her hands. What did she think she was going to do with those?

" Because I didn't want the neighbors to know I was around" I said answering her...
