I had just indirectly accused him of having feelings for Mia and he wanted to set me straight.

" A simple, no I don't love her would have sufficed, but no... He just had to kiss me. " I scoffed, rolling my eyes as I tapped the glass of the car to get my driver's attention. 

Alfred came down respectfully from the car and bowed in front of me. 

"Ma'am are you ready to go? " He asked and I nodded. 

He went ahead to open the car for me and I got in the back while he went around the car and to the driver's seat.
