Kai's POV

The shadow wraiths had been vanquished, thanks largely to Leia. My next task was to subdue this menacing minotaur before setting off for the Black Moon pack. A perilous adversary was waiting there, a woman intent on causing Leia harm. I had taken down Merciless, and as his body fell, new threats emerged. Ghouls now replace the defeated shadow wraiths. One after another, they fell to my potent magic beam.

Without warning, a vortex opened to my side. My gaze whipped toward it, where I saw rogue witches and Susan emerging from it. They joined in the battle, their powers targeted at the encroaching ghouls and the minotaurs....
