Lola's POV

    I felt so hollow and empty. I thought I couldn't be affected by whatever he says or does anymore, but was I wrong. I could not properly hear what was going on around me. All I heard was echoes and distant sounds.

    "Lola, Lola, can you hear me?" I heard someone calling out to me distantly and tried to reply but I could not. It felt like my lungs were being crushed and I could not even cry out for help.

   I suddenly took in a large gulp of air and came back to the present. Jace was kneeling beside me with a worried look on his face....
