"A hybrid," I said it aloud, looking at the pack compound through the infirmary patient room window. The sun was occluded by dark clouds, unlike when I woke up earlier while it was still grazing us with its rays.
"How you feeling?" my father asked out of nowhere, making me jump with a gasp.
"Dad." I breathed, raising my hand to my chest.
"I'm sorry for startling you." He closed the door, then moved to the window. He was dressed in khaki trousers and a t-shirt, looking quite good for his age.
